Equine Wound Healing Study

Dear Chuck:

Below please find my clinical synopsis of the $100,000 quarter horse case which was successfully treated with MAXI/GUARD®  Zn7™ Equine Wound Care Formula.

Signalment: Weanling quarter horse filly with umbilical wound which measured 3.5 by 2 inches.  Abundant granulation tissue was present at time zero and the wound margins were slightly irregular.

Treatment: The wound was cleansed and irrigated, then sprayed with Zn7™ Equine twice daily from 9/29/2000 until 10/13/2000.

Healing Response: The wound was completely healed within 21 days.  Zn7™ Equine Formula stimulated an immediate healing response which was clearly evident at 7 days with good scab formulation and wound margin migration toward the center of the defect (re-epithelization).  The wound healed in an accelerated fashion (approximately 50% of the expected healing interval).  Zn7™ when applied topically dried in a few minutes leaving the wound with a thin protective covering of gellant.  The wounded tissue did not dry out excessively.  Equine wounds come in many varieties and are common events.  This new neutralized zinc technology is a breakthrough for veterinarians, horse lovers, and horses.  The owner and veterinarian were greatly impressed with the rapid healing response following the application of Zn7™ Equine.

Sincerely Yours,
